Help Cecilia Rebuild After the altadena Fire Loss

*** 1/29/25
Cecilia has settled into a small house in Enterprise, AL. We were able to get her a nice comfortable bed. Bed linens, towels, kitchen items and she is using my vehicle, as her vehicle burnt. She also received a beautiful sewing machine for her to start sewing again. We will go buy shoes and jackets this Friday. Sadly, she never received the money promised by FEMA. All the help she has received has been by our wonderful friends and family. We praise God for all of you. Thank you all for your help.

Celia made it to Alabama. She got sick on the trip here. She is settling into her new home. Much to do but will wait till Monday. We will leave her GoFundMe page open ‘till next week. Thank you all for your help.

update: 1/22/25. We reached our GOAL. Thank you to all who helped us. We will leave the GoFundMe up until Saturday. She should get to AL on Friday and we will deposit the GoFundMe to her account once she gets here.

My 66 year old sister, Cecilia, lived in Altadena, CA, and is one of the many victims of the devastating fires. She called me on Tuesday to let me know she was being evacuated because of the fire on the mountain near her home. She and her family left their house that evening and sought refuge with nearby relatives.

That night, the fire worsened. Flames raged through the beloved mountain valley. By Wednesday morning, the situation spiraled further out of control, and they were forced to evacuate for the second time.

As she, her husband and their two dogs drove toward another family member’s home, they found themselves stuck on roads with fires burning fiercely around them and winds gusting at 70 mph.

Thankfully, she and her family reached her sister-in-law’s home safely. Later that afternoon, when the winds calmed, we got the devastating confirmation that Ceci and her husband had lost everything. But, they were able to save their two dogs, Mia and Zeus.
Despite the unimaginable loss, we are profoundly grateful that Ceci and her family made it out alive. But, they need so much at this time for their long journey. Cecilia and the dogs will need to relocate temporarily to Alabama with me and my family, while her husband navigates the rebuilding of their home back in Altadena. Due to the size and breed of her dog, Zeus, she is unable to fly. Our plan is for her to rent a vehicle and drive to Alabama. This is an expensive trip. We are prepared to upfront expenses. She also lost ALL her sewing machines. She worked from
home as a seamstress. She lost her large commercial sewing machine, a Brother sewing machine, a serger and a small Jenome sewi Machine. Any help is much appreciated.
A very grateful sister, Marcella.
***update: cecilia stood in line at the Post Office that didn’t burnt for 3 hours. Once she reached the desk she asked how could they continued to get their mailed as they don’t have a physical address. They are Homeless. They were told to
get a P.O. Box. And made them
pay over 90.00 Dollars. This family has NOTHING..
