Help Cebu Victims Recover from Super Typhoon Rai
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
It has been less than a week since the Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) badly hit the Southern and Central regions of the Philippines, one of them is my hometown "Cebu". The super typhoon brought violent winds, storm surges & land fall that unfortunately cause severe destruction to peoples homes, businesses and lives!
To date: there is lack of resources, electricity, water, limited cellular signal, limited food and a lot of people have lost their HOMES (90% of the people I know lost at least the ROOF OF THEIR HOMES). The typhoon didn't spare anyone, even the biggest houses & establishments in the area are severely damaged.
There is also a significant increase in the price of the necessary supplies which makes it even more difficult for the people to get back on their feet again (E.g. the price of Gas, House Materials, Water, etc have more than double.).
It's devastating to see my fellow Filipinos going through such difficult times. To add to the pain, it occurred only a few days before Christmas - which is one of the most celebrated holidays in the Philippines. Imagine loosing your house, your furniture, your electronics, any pre-purchased Christmas presents. And not having access to water or nutritious food or electricity or internet for your job. And spending your Christmas cleaning or repairing or replacing what you have left. That, unfortunately, is what a lot of families have been facing and are continuing to face.
My goal is to help the people in my Hometown of Cebu with basic necessities (water, food) and some house materials to help them rebuild their homes (especially the vulnerable ones who have no where to go).
I am knocking on the door of your good hearts. If you have extra money to spare, it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, please do not hesitate to help.
Any amount is a huge help already, it will help the lives if the children and their families. It will put a big smile on their faces. It will help them rebuild their homes and get back on their feet again.
Donations will not go to any friends and family but instead those in surrounding neighbourhoods. We will also be reporting back to you with photos to provide updates and saving receipts of all purchases we make for you generous donations.
Thank you so much for your help and bringing a smile to those who are in a darker place than we are right now.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
For those who do not know me, I’m Hazel Pacaldo and leave been living in Australia for the 7+ years. As I am from Cebu, Philippines, I have seen this pain first hand and am fortunately enough to have my family in the heart of calamity to help purchase necessary items (water, food & building supplies) from you donation and distribute them to those in need.
