A powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck northern Cebu at 9:59 p.m. (local) on Sept 30, 2025, with a shallow focus (~10 km) and an epicenter near Bogo City. It’s the deadliest Philippine quake since 2013, with at least 72 deaths and ~294 injuries reported so far. Authorities and monitors have documented hundreds to thousands of aftershocks, and they warn these may continue for days to weeks. Critical roads, bridges, power, and water lines have been damaged, and hospitals in the north are stretched caring for the injured.
Who we’re helping
Your donation will provide rapid relief for families in Tabuelan, Cebu and nearby hard-hit towns in the north. Our immediate focus is water trucking, food distribution, and critical medical supplies, prioritizing families cut off by road damage and with no access to drinking water and electricity.
Why your help matters right now
Hospitals and clinics have been overwhelmed, with patients treated outdoors between aftershocks. Historic structures and community facilities have partially collapsed, and thousands are displaced or sleeping outside due to structural risks and continuous tremors.
What your donation provides (immediate priorities)
- Safe drinking water and food supplies
- Critical medical supplies
- Electricity generators and fuel
- Emergency shelters
Accountability & Speed
All funds raised go to Elaine Pamplona, who is directly coordinating with the Mayor of Tabuelan and on-the-ground volunteers to purchase and distribute relief supplies immediately—without waiting on intermediary agencies. We will prioritize fast procurement locally (to move trucks quickly), and report on the progress so donors can see their impact as services reach families.
