I am writing on behalf of an incredible friend, who also is incredibly proud and would never want to ask for help. Throughout her 30-plus year hotel career, she was the coach, listening ear, mentor, and supporter of countless co-workers and friends. She is the type of person that would do anything, for anyone. And she finds herself in a position she never thought she would be in.
In 2015, CeCe was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disease, COPD, and a degenerative disk disease that in turn led her to have to leave her beloved career. She returned home to Washington State to seek treatment, heal, and be close to her family. Throughout this time, her plan was to return to the workforce when she was physically able. Cece has been job-searching for some time now as her medical treatments, and the bills that come with them, continue to mount. Dealing with her multiple health issues has proven to be very difficult. At the beginning of 2020, her hopes were high that she would have a great job opportunity come her way. But, 2020 has of course brought it's own difficulties and jobs are few. At time of this writing, she is unable to afford the treatment/physical therapy she needs and is at the point where she is afraid of losing her housing.
It is terrifying for her that she currently cannot afford the treatments needed, on the insurance she is able to carry. In talking to her, I realized the depth of her fear and it broke my heart that in a country like ours, people go through this. My friend needs help.
Many of you worked with CeCe and know what an amazing person she is. She has given so, so much. If you are so inclined, here is an opportunity to give back to someone who has done so much for so many.
For those who don't know her, you would be helping to support someone who is a kind, beautiful soul who has just hit a really rough patch. And you would be making a huge difference in her life.
Thank you for reading-and thank you for helping if you can.
