Help Cazza's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Andy and my dog Cazza is my universe.

I got her in late February from a previously unknown foster family. She came from a puppyhood of abuse, and has jumped around from place to place having a period of being neglected outside before finally coming to me.

When I got Cazza she was excitable, happy, energetic, and sweet.
She was undergoing service dog training by myself for her to pass the public access test and assist me as a psychiatric and medical alert dog for my congenital heart defect and CPTSD. Her training is extremely easy as she is incredibly smart, and as it stands I believe we could pass the test right now if her prognosis had been different.
Her first vet appointment revealed that she has lymphoma, a terminal type of dog cancer. Without treatment she has less than a month to live.

I want to do everything in my power to keep her healthy and safe.
I am terrified that even when we finally get her chemo therapy (the vets have insisted on multiple appointments for different tests and have yet to start it) her cancer will be too advanced.
If her chemotherapy is a success she will live for another year. I desperately want to at least give her that much to truly live as a dog and to make sure she knows that I love her.
Where will the donation money go?
I am on disability income assistance so I will always have enough money for myself. That money can completely cover my needs and expenses. This means that all of the money donated to Cazza will go only to her care and treatment.
If you would prefer to donate necessities, or would like to send Cazza presents, words of encouragement, or have something you’d like her to be told or be given on-camera my email is available through this gofundme page.
My address is available upon request.

I’m not sure how well perishables will fare via Canada Post especially if packages come from the US so if you’d prefer to send gift cards I primarily get Cazza’s supplies from Petsmart.

Please note: Cazza doesn’t like toys very much so I don’t recommend sending her one with the anticipation that she’ll be obsessed with it in the video.

Her favourite flavor is chicken.
Chemotherapy is expensive. Our vet has given us an estimate of $5000 in total, covering all treatments and bloodwork.

I will be covering the costs as they come with my provincial disability when the donations are in transfer limbo. In this way I can hopefully immediately pay for visits as they come regardless of what stage the money is transferring into my account.
Her treatments are more important than my pain meds, iced tea, etc. Regular chemotherapy treatment is a more pressing priority so they will come first. Going without food is significantly less deadly than going without chemo.

No leftover donations even after remission is achieved will be spent elsewhere. They will be kept for a second remission. I will be fighting the lymphoma until it is clear that Cazza’s suffering eclipses her quality of life. This means attempting as many remissions (additional chemo) when the cancer returns as possible.
When chemo stops being an option, or if during our upcoming tests the vet determines the cancer is at too advanced of a stage for it to help, the donations will be spent solely on quality of life comforts, medicine to relieve symptoms, spoiling her, as well as to allow me to not have to leave her alone for extended periods of time (food delivery, etc.)

I don't know how I'm going to live without Cazza. She literally saved my life. I have a reason to get up in the morning because of her. I had hoped we would finally have our happy ending. Any amount that helps alleviate our suffering and grief means so much to me. Cazza loves you.
