In September 2017, my big brother Cayton was diagnosed with Seminoma Testicular Cancer.  Within weeks he had surgery to remove the tumor. No radiation or chemo was indicated. Since then he has had routine scans and blood work. In November they found an enlarged lymph node on his scan. They performed a biopsy and confirmed it to be seminoma. Cayton is scheduled to have a "nerve sparing retroperitoneal lymph node dissection" surgery on January 7, 2019 at USC Medical Center. We hope and pray that this will conclude his battle with cancer.
As one can imagine, these surgeries, scans, and other directed medical procedures do not come cheap. A new year means a new deductible and out of pocket expenses. In addition, Cayton will also be out of work for over a month to recover from the surgery. 
2018 has brought many life changing events for Cayton. He married the love of his life, Bre. They will be welcoming a miracle baby girl named Abigail on December 19th. She will be the shining light guiding their family through this next challenge.
