Help Caylee's Fight Against Aplastic Anemia
Donation protected
Our 12-year-old niece, Caylee, has been fighting a serious health battle. Shortly before Christmas, she began experiencing extreme fatigue, bruising, fainting, and frequent headaches. After some testing, her bloodwork came back abnormal, and she was immediately admitted to Children's Hospital for further evaluation.
After a week of intensive testing, including blood transfusions and a bone marrow aspiration, Caylee was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a rare blood disorder. This condition occurs when the bone marrow is unable to produce enough blood cells and platelets. It leaves those affected at an increased risk for infections, bleeding, heart complications, and many other serious health challenges. While there are treatments to manage the symptoms, a stem cell transplant is the only potential cure.
Since her diagnosis, Caylee has undergone two additional blood transfusions and is likely to need more in the future. If these transfusions do not yield the necessary results, she will require a **bone marrow transplant**, which would also involve chemotherapy as part of the treatment plan.
In addition to medical bills and co-pays, my brother and sister-in-law are facing the costs of traveling back and forth to the hospital and missing work to care for their daughter. As this will be an ongoing situation, they are in need of financial support to help them through this time.
Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward medical expenses, travel costs, and helping them manage the day-to-day needs as they focus on getting Caylee the care she needs.
Please consider donating to help our family during this challenging time. Your support means the world to us, and Caylee’s fight against aplastic anemia.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity.
