My name is Jason Shahan and I am the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) coordinator and teacher at Granbury high school in Granbury, TX. If you are not familiar with AVID, it is a course that is designed for first generation collegebound students. This is where Caylee comes into the picture. Caylee is one of my senior AVID students that has been in the class every year since 7th grade. Caylee just found out a couple weeks ago that she got accepted into her dream school that she identified in one of her very first goal-setting assignments. She was accepted at the culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York!! Caylee's family, classmates, and myself are so excited for her achievement. As an AVID teacher, I've always been a huge proponent of any student, that when choosing a college that it is imperative to visit the campus before attending. This is where Caylee needs a little help. With your support, we would like to be able to send Caylee and her mother up to the campus in New York to make sure that it's a good fit before making such a huge commitment and one of the most important decisions of her life. Caylee also has firm goals of continuing her education following her culinary degree to earn a Bachelor's in Restaraunt management or business in hopes of owning/operating her own high end restaraunt someday. Your donation will help Caylee and her mother be able to fly, rent a car, and stay in hotels for two nights to check out her potential new campus.
