I’m setting this up for a lifelong friend (Treycee) and her daughter (Caylee), who is 13 years old.
Recently, Treycee and Caylee were given some terrible news. Caylee has Rotoscoliosis
(Twisted Spine Scoliosis).
A form of scoliosis, but worse. Not only does her spine curve, but it's also twisting. It has started to cause issues in other parts of her body and her organs. To start this long process is going to be in January in St. Louis, MO. That is the only place that will accept her insurance for the surgery. Treycee and her children reside in Adamsville, Tn. They are looking at about two months, maybe more for recovery time, meaning two months they will have to be away from their home and family. Unfortunately, Caylee only has her mother; her father passed away 13 years ago. She has been God's sweetest blessing. She does have other medical issues: Marfran syndrome, which is a genetic disorder that affects the body's tissue (blood vessels, organs). Due to that, she also has an aneurysm on her main aortic valve. Those Issues have been somewhat maintained, the pressing issue is the Rotoscoliosis.
The issue that is going to prolong this from getting started is the funds to get there and somewhere to stay. Treycee herself, who has cancer and is still going through treatments, only gets so much from disability, but that already goes to her home bills and to provide for all of her children. There is not much room to save what is needed to be able to go and be with her daughter to start this process. The sooner they’re able to start, the better chance of a better recovery she will have.
