Help Kaylee Marie's Fight Against Heart Failure
Donation protected
My cousin Joshua Orr needs help with costs of a medical emergency with his youngest daughter Kaylee. Kaylee Marie was sick with what the doctors thought was a simple virus. However, instead of getting better, poor Kaylee got much worse very suddenly. She began belly breathing, and was taken to Lakeland Regional. LRMC knew immediately they wouldn’t be able to handle the severity of her condition and informed her parents she would need to be sent to Nemours Children’s Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). Nemours was able to give us some answers about the severity of her condition.
Baby Kaylee was in heart failure.
She would need to be intubated, because of fluid build up around her lungs. The pressure on her lungs and pain from her heart not functioning properly was causing a lot of pain. Kaylee has been sedated to avoid ripping at her medical equipment.
The Doctors at Nemours informed us that with heart failure there are things we need to plan for. Those plans of course have to include the worst case scenario, Mechanical Intervention. They needed to move Kaylee to the UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. This facility has a machine that would help operate Kaylee’s major organs if she needs the transplant.
Mom and Dad are trying to stay by her side, to support her and each other through this very difficult time. However, we need funds to for both parents to eat, find boarding.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities is unfortunately not able to house them due to availability at this time.
