Hi, my name is Crystal, and I’m a mother doing everything I can to support my daughter, Cayla. Cayla Flucas was born with spina bifida, and since day one, she has faced challenges that most people never have to think about. Even with everything she goes through, Cayla is strong, determined, and full of personality. She keeps pushing forward, and as her mom, I couldn’t be more proud of her.
Right now, one of our biggest struggles is transportation. Getting Cayla in and out of our current vehicle is becoming harder and unsafe. It takes a toll physically, and it limits where we can go and how often. Simple things like going to school, attending medical appointments, or even just getting out of the house as a family can turn into stressful situations.
A wheelchair accessible van would completely change Cayla’s life. It would allow her to safely and comfortably get where she needs to go. It would give her more independence, help her stay active in school and her community, and allow her to enjoy life the way she deserves. As a parent, that’s all I want for her.
The cost of a wheelchair accessible van is overwhelming, and it’s something we cannot afford on our own. I’m asking for help from anyone who feels moved by our story. Any donation, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference. And if you’re not able to give, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to our family. Thank you for taking the time to read about Cayla and for supporting her journey toward greater independence. With love and gratitude, Crystal and Family
