Hurricane Melissa Recovery: Cave Valley, Jamaica

Hello, I am Oral Desmond Daley, living in Kissimmee, FL. I am in Real Estate and Transportation. I used to live in the affected area and was marooned by flood waters during hurricane Ivan in 2004. I am from this community and know the people there. Hurricane Melissa has devastated the Cave Valley community in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, leaving the entire area flooded and underwater. Homes have been destroyed, roads have collapsed, and farms—the main source of income for many—have been washed away. Dozens of families have lost everything. Many residents, especially children, the elderly, and single-parent households, are now displaced with no clean water, no food supply, no clothing, and nowhere safe to sleep. This small rural community depends on farming and daily labor, and the hurricane has wiped out their only means of survival.

We are raising funds to provide emergency food and clean water, shelter, mattresses, clothing, hygiene supplies, school items for affected children, and materials to begin repairing homes. Every contribution will go directly to families in Cave Valley who urgently need help. Your support will help restore hope and stability to those who have lost so much.

Please donate what you can and share this page to reach more people. Together, we can help Cave Valley rebuild and recover. Thank you for your kindness and support.

I used to live in this community and know the people living there. I will be travelling there soon to meet personally with the victims of this hurricane.
