Foundraising for cats in Dubai
Hello, my name is Cacao, and I am a kitten born in Dubai. A breeder, noticing I was weaker than the others due to a heart condition, decided to abandon me in the middle of the street. For weeks, I wandered around, risking my life every day for a piece of meat. I cried a lot in the street because I had no one, and there were so many dangers around me—not just cars and motorcycles, but also other cats.
One day, my life changed, and I am immensely grateful for that. A volunteer named Lola picked me up and took me away from that stinky environment. My veterinary visit didn’t go well at all: the doctor diagnosed me with parvovirus and mycoplasma, in addition to removing dozens of ticks. After testing negative just six weeks later in isolation with other kittens like me, I was taken into a home and was neutered.
The operation went well at first, but then the real nightmare began. My heart collapsed, and my lungs filled with fluid. I was dying. I was rushed to the clinic, where I was hospitalized for a week. When they say miracles exist, I believe it because I survived.
No one knows that my adoptive mom gave up several treatments and sacrificed for me, nearly emptying her bank account. Along with her, there are many people, including Lola, who try to help kittens in danger like me. Among the organizations and volunteers in the UAE are: Red Paw, Lola, Dina, Emiratescats, Tiziana, Yanina, Haya, Nocatsleftbehind, Deborah, Zeina, Yuliia, etc.
Among them are also fosters who help kittens stabilize and find homes, existing all over the world, including in the UK and Italy with my friends from Fusa D’Oriente. Today, on my mom's birthday, we opened a fundraising campaign because we don’t want gifts, but rather a little help to support other animals.
Why Dubai? This is the question everyone asks us... Because it’s outrageous that in such an advanced city, there is a complete disregard for the respect of the weakest and most innocent creatures: animals. Animals that are bred and then thrown into the street if they are not perfect and as soon as they get sick. Animals that are absolutely not neutered and continuously multiply, as the high temperatures of the Emirates support the survival of the virus. Do you know what the government does? They catch us and take us to die in the desert: that is their solution. Yet, from such an evolved country that aims for innovation and wealth, one would never expect such a level of degradation.
Today, my mom and I don’t want gifts; we wholeheartedly desire support, help to assist the organizations and volunteers in Dubai to whom we will send these funds. In fact, they are exclusively intended to support their activities.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Perché proprio a Dubai?
