My beautiful friend of almost 30 years, my fellow Derry Girl, has just been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3 breast cancer. It's very aggressive and she urgently needs your help. Catriona, a devoted mother, has faced more than her fair share of challenges. After an extremely traumatic birth with her now 4-year-old little boy, Elías, she spent years recovering from the associated health issues. Despite these hardships, Catríona was blessed with her second child, a beautiful baby girl named Amelia. In recent months, Catríona had attributed her tiredness, fatigue, and general unwellness to the demands of breastfeeding and caring for two young children. However, a routine checkup a few weeks ago and the mention of a small lump led to further tests. The result was a devastating diagnosis: breast cancer. Amelia has just turned 6 months old. Her husband, who only started a new job six weeks ago, is struggling to balance his demanding work schedule with supporting Catríona and their children. With limited holidays and sick days available, and mounting mortgage interest rates, this beautiful family is facing immense financial pressure. Living in Perth with no family, Catríona and her family need your support more than ever.
