Hello fellow cat lovers,

My name is Joe, but for the last 20 years, folks and thousands of community cats know me simply as the Catman.

For the last two decades, my wife and I have dedicated ourselves to the plight of community cats. Those are the cats that are discarded, usually unadoptable. We have trapped, neutered and released well over a thousand cats in that time.

But more than that, we are also colony caretakers, where we go out daily and feed community cats at designated feeding stations we've set up.

Last year, we made the leap to opening up a cat sanctuary, as many of our community cats were no longer safe where they were at. So we moved out from the city and into the country so that we could accommodate this.

Today, our truck that we had been using, which currently has been our only mode of transportation, died. And it's going to be quite an expensive fix. Possibly to the point of not worth fixing.

Which brings us to this GoFundMe. We have the opportunity to purchase a reliable, large minivan that would be perfect for cat transportation for $4000. Pictures are included.

Our Facebook page (CatmanToTheRescue) has been in existence for 6 years now where we chronicle all of the cats that we help. There are literally many hundreds of videos there documenting our work.

My wife has been battling congestive heart failure for the last 7 years which has made things financially tight for us. Couple that with the fact that rescues in general are seeing a giant dip in donations as the economy has worsened.

We are hoping that there are enough folks out there that might be able to take a look at the work that we do for cats that don't have anyone else but us to help them and that maybe they'd be willing to chip in so we could be back on the road to do what we have done for them year after year, day after day.
