In June of 2025, my husband, Catlin was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease. As you can imagine, it was an extremely shocking and mind blowing diagnosis for him and our family. Catlin had his whole life ahead of him. Shortly before the diagnosis, Catlin found his dream occupation of being a Boat Mechanic. Unfortunately, jumping in and out of boats just is not feasible for him anymore. After much reflection, thought, and deliberation, we decided it was best for him to retire early, so that we may try to enjoy the time we have left together as a family. For Catlin, the progression of the disease over the last few months, has intensified to where he requires a wheelchair at least half the time when outside of the home. His left leg has already gone limp. His right leg is not far behind, with the muscle cramps he experiences becoming increasingly worse.
Despite all of this, Catlin is still the person he has always been. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and hosting crawfish boils. He would love to continue to do so, as much as physically possible. As a family, we would enjoy being able to share the experience of traveling together, to have as many memories as possible.
Please join us in supporting Catlin Landry, as he bravely battles ALS. We will be having a plate lunch benefit. All proceeds will be dedicated to helping with medical expenses and his on going care.
Your support means more than words can express — let’s come together for Catlin!
