Our mother, Cathy, has recently been diagnosed with cancer in her kidneys, which has spread to her liver and lungs. The day she was released to await surgery, she fell in her apartment, and could not get herself up. Living alone, she had no one to help her, and she was on the floor for 12+ hours before a neighbor heard her cries for help. She is now in a facility to await surgery, and will return there after surgery to recover. She lives in Tulsa, OK, away from all her kids in Tallahassee, and would like to maintain her independence, despite her diagnoses and difficulties. To help her achieve this, we need to travel to Tulsa and help her get her apartment cleared and prepared for someone with her differing abilities now. The costs this will contribute to are a rental car, food and a hotel for the multi-week stay we’ll need to get her back on her feet at home, in addition to the costs we’ll incur cleaning and setting her home up for her arrival. It will also help Cathy pay her bills (medical and otherwise) and rent to keep/upgrade her home while going through chemo and further treatments for the cancer. Any help given is greatly appreciated!
