Help Cathy Fight Lung Cancer
Donation protected
First off, thank you so much for even reading this, it truly means a lot to us.
To get straight to the point, my mom, Cathy, was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. The most frustrating part is that she’s never smoked a day in her life and had no known risk factors. It has completely blind sided us. And even more frustrating, after her family pleaded with her for years to retire, she was only a few months away from retirement.
Cathy has spent her entire life putting her family first. Even while working full time into her late 60s, she’s been a caregiver for her 80-year-old mother, who has her own complex medical needs. Despite the exhaustion, she never complained, she just kept showing up for everyone she loves.
Now she needs to focus on herself and her coming battle. That means stepping back from caregiving, and facing major medical bills while putting off her retirement again just to keep insurance.
We’re raising funds to help with:
Her medical expenses
Hiring an in-home nurse to care for her mother
Helping them move in with our family so we can care for both my mom and grandma
This is incredibly hard to write. I never imagined having to ask for help like this, especially not for my own mother. But right now, any and every bit helps, even just sharing this with someone else, it means the world to us.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. Whether you’re able to donate or not, we appreciate your time and support more than you know.
