Hi. My name is Mike. My sister Cathy is a strong, loving single mother who has already faced more challenges than most people see in a lifetime. She works full-time to provide for her family while raising her children on her own, but now she’s facing her third battle with cancer, and it’s the toughest one yet.

Cathy has been diagnosed with three different types of cancer:

• Stage 3 Neuroendocrine Tumor that began in her ampulla and has spread into her duodenum, pancreatic head, and local lymph nodes.

• Stage 3 Astrocytoma with piloid features, an aggressive brain tumor. One of the tumors is wrapped around her thalamus and is considered inoperable because removal could cause paralysis or deafness. Another inoperable tumor sits in her occipital horn, and even the safest removal route could leave her blind. She also has tumors in her temporal lobe, one of which may be operable.

• On top of this, Cathy is also living with stage 2 kidney disease.

Despite her diagnosis, Cathy has continued to work full-time because she has no other choice as a single mom. Her doctors initially told her to stop working, but she simply can’t afford to. Now they’re telling her to “do what she can,” but every day it’s getting harder for her to keep up.

To make matters worse, the local healthcare system in Oklahoma has failed to provide the treatments she needs. For proper care, Cathy has to travel frequently to MD Anderson in Texas. With her health declining, she may even be forced to relocate to access life-saving treatment, all while navigating a difficult divorce and trying to maintain stability for her children.

Cathy has always been the kind of person who puts her family and others before herself. Now she desperately needs help. Donations will go directly toward:

• Medical bills and ongoing treatments

• Travel expenses to MD Anderson

• Basic living expenses while she is unable to work

• Potential relocation costs so she can receive the care she needs

• Support for her children during this unimaginably difficult time
