Hi, my name is Cheyenne and I am fundraising for Catherine Hopkinson and her Family.

On October 23rd Catherine was admitted into the hospital with pneumonia and treated in general med with antibiotics (multiple as nothing was touching the pneumonia). As some days passed her oxygen levels kept declining and that Saturday they performed a Bronchoscopy, and nothing irregular came back.

Monday morning 10/30 she got another chest x-ray and more fluid showed than when she was admitted. At that time they wanted to move her to IMCU and place her on a bipap machine with sedation as her labored breathing was somewhere in the 60s. During her time in IMCU she was given steroids to help strengthen her lungs and continued antibiotics and breathing treatments.

Early Saturday (11/4) morning Catherine was moved to ICU placed on a ventilator and heavy sedation with hopes to give her mind and body the rest it needs to fight for her lungs to recover.

What’s next:

As of now she has a scheduled biopsy for Monday 11/6 if her lungs are stable enough for doctors to perform. Hopefully this will pinpoint the cause, and also to see what our next steps will be.

Currently the doctors think this may be caused by her autoimmune diseases that she was diagnosed with back in 2010.

All funds raised will go towards Catherine’s medical costs, and every day expenses.
