When we first moved to our acreage, we called it Top Secret. But as our family of cats has grown and the challenges have mounted, we’ve officially renamed it Cat’Astrophe! Over the past two years, our home has become a sanctuary for more than 44 feral cats. We started with 15 of our own, all fixed and cared for, but soon discovered 12 more unaltered cats on the property. Without the time or resources to get them all fixed right away, our feline family quickly multiplied.

Every morning, I go out to feed and check on each cat, making sure they have food, water, and a safe place to stay. During the harsh winter months, the cats live in four old heated camping trailers and an old school bus, where we do our best to keep them warm and comfortable. The costs of food, electricity, and vet care have risen sharply, and with more mouths to feed, it’s become nearly impossible for us to keep up on our own. Last year, we barely managed, but this winter has brought even more challenges.

We love these beautiful creatures and are committed to giving them the best life we can. But we can’t do it alone anymore.
