Help Cata and Daniel execute a Return Home Plan

Donation protected
Hello beautiful Human!

If you have ever felt supported by me personally, I urge you to please continue reading.

Almost 3 years ago I moved to Colombia with a need to reconnect with my roots and organize past trauma. I saved money, I prepared, I planned and I was able to settle here and start my counseling private practice. Work was abundant for the most part and the word-of-mouth referrals were flowing in.

While in Colombia, I met my life-partner, Daniel Gonzalez Torrenegra. Daniel worked as a musician and a model. Throughout the pandemic regulations and lock-outs have been pretty much strict and persistent in Colombia. He was unable to continue to have this income avenue. He has always been an autodidact and given the situation he decided to start learning and training to teach others about the importance of breath. He has been successful at starting his coaching practice.

Our plan was to continue to work on our private practices, save money and prepare while the US embassy re-opened in order for us to be able to get our paperwork and then move back to Sarasota, FL. We even moved to the country-side to reduce costs and we cut-back on all of our expenses. However, new developments out of our control have taken place.

The Reality: On April the socio-political situation in Colombia started to complicate. Since then there have been numerous protests, deaths, human-rights violations and road blockages, this has had an enormous effect on the economy of the country.  Since then, mental health services are no longer a priority for the average person. This means our income has decreased significantly in the last 3 months, weighting on the already plummeting numbers since the pandemic started.  Our savings account is close to empty and we are definitely starting to worry.  Embassy has opened but the waiting times to get appointments due to vaccination-travel and backups, is about a year long. We are also exhausting all of our options with immigration but they are limited, we have to wait and we have to play it by ear.

What is needed:  We are looking for donations to cover our rent for the next 8 months and relieve economic tension.

How much is that?

Our rent is 290.00 dollars per month.  We are looking to raise $2500.00 ASAP.

This will allow us to focus our income to pay utilities, groceries and save the money we will need for our move back.

Why 8 months?

We are hoping that by this time both the embassy and the economic situation have taken a turn.

Both Daniel and I are currently actively working on creating and selling online courses in order to appeal to the international community for income.  In addition, we are working locally to find any opportunities for income and we will continue to do so. We are also working on a small vegetable garden to lower costs.

I have never done this before and to be honest it feels awkward. But what's the worst that can happen, we get help?

I want to thank you for taking the time to read and consider this fundraiser!

Any contribution is highly appreciated! We will keep you updated about the situation.

We are extremely and humbly grateful for your donation. Please know that, if you are interested, we are willing to offer Counseling time or Breath work training and assessments as a way to show our gratitude.
