Hi, my name is Stephanie and I’m fundraising for my soulcat to finish his chemotherapy. Storm, who is a Persian, was diagnosed with high grade/large cell lymphoma (LCL) in his kidneys in January this year. Apparently we had caught it quickly but it had already spread to his other organs so he was stage 4 on diagnosis, which was a huge shock. He was given just weeks to a few months to live unless we started chemotherapy.

The initial investigations at Vets4Pets cost about £1,200 and his six-night stay in intensive care in Earlswood, which included a feeding tube in his neck, cost £5,000. This meant his insurance's annual £5,000 limit had been hit within about 10 days of his first symptoms. Progressing to any chemo, which would cost about another £5,000, would be out of my own pocket.

We started a chemo protocol called COP in February. He was only eight when he was diagnosed but he turned nine in March and has been responding well to his chemo, except for one infection in April, which required another overnight stay in intensive care and cost about £600. His total treatment bill would therefore be just under £12,000.

Each COP session costs ~£350. I did everything I could to fund his first 11 sessions and got him into partial remission, which I’m so proud of both him and myself for. ❤️ But I hit a funding wall in July. There are another 6-9 sessions left in the protocol, which could get him through 2026 and into 2027.

His next sessions (every three weeks) are due to be:
  • August 18 and 19
  • September 8 and 9
  • September 29 and 30
  • October 20 and 21
  • November 10 and 11
  • December 1 and 2
  • December 22 and 23
  • January 12 and January 13
  • February 2 and 3

I realise times are tough for everyone at the minute, but Storm is the sweetest, most gentle, loving boy and I had always hoped he would live to his teen years or beyond. Any help to keep my familiar alive a little longer and maybe even get him into complete remission would be much appreciated.
