On May 7th, my mother, Lorenza Castillo was diagnosed with COVID-19. They have gone back home to the Philippines have been living there for several years. My family and I have not been able to see them due to the pandemic. At age 83, she was fighting the virus with pneumonia, high fevers, vomiting, and using an oxygen mask. 

Medical conditions in the Philippines are different than the United States. Hospitals are more expensive and require the money in order to get the treatment. Our family needs to pay for treatments, hospital rooms, medications, and much more.

On May 13th, my father, Ernie Castillo was diagnosed with COVID-19, doubling the expenses.
