Hi everyone! I’m Cassie, a Bloomington local who has fallen on hard times. I moved into my current house in the fall, and recently had my roommate situation fall through. As a result, I am now responsible for the full amount of rent. I work full time, but I cannot sustain this on my own.
On top of that, I’m a type 1 diabetic—which is expensive. I am faced with a lot of regular medical expenses just to survive. It has become difficult to maintain my health while facing housing insecurity. I am supposed to get a new insulin pump in July, which will cost me about $1,000 even after insurance. I had to be hospitalized last month, and I have no idea how I’m going to save up money to be able to afford a new insulin pump or anything else I need.
I’m currently doing everything I can to stay above water—applying for assistance, etc—but this is too much for me to handle on my own. Anything you donate will go towards providing housing security for me and my cat or taking care of medical expenses. Thank you for taking the time to read this, any support is greatly appreciated!
