Help Cassie with life after going blind at 35

Hi my name is Cassandra but my friends call me Cassie. Up till a few months ago I was a normal 34 year old women. Living my life with the most wonderful man and working a job I kinda liked lol. Everything was going great that was until the day that started my nightmare.

One Sunday morning I woke up with very blurred vision. I told my husband something was wrong. We decided that I needed to see a doctor but it was Sunday so no one was open. So we kinda just waited till Monday to go to the doctor, we kinda thought this might be diabetes related since I have that.

So we went to the doctor on Monday and they were very concerned so they sent me to get a CT scan that day and set me up an eye doctor the next day. I got a note to take to work to let them know what was going on and that I wouldn't be able to work as of right now. At that moment I was thinking this was only temporary.

The CT came back normal. So I continued my journey by going to the eye doctor.I was there for about 2 hours doing every test they had. Everything came back normal so the doctor said the next step was to go to a specialist know as a Nero ophthalmologist I believe that's how it's spelled lol. And there only two in Ohio where I live and one was at Cleveland Clinic and the other was at University Hospital both in Cleveland.

So I left that day again with no answers and I was starting to get scared cause now its Tuesday and I was no were close to an answer. That was also the day I went on medical leave from work since I didn't know how long this was going to last.

The next day my husband and I got up and stared our day I took a shower and was getting ready while he took the next shower. I was brushing my hair and it all went black. My vision was totally gone. My husband got out of the shower and looked at me and asked what's wrong. I started to cry and told him what happened. We called the doctor right away and the said to go the hospital right away and that's what we did.

We ended up at the Cleveland clinic Emergency Department. I went threw everything again and got another CT scan they couldn't do an MRI in the ED they said. I was there forever but there couldn't find anything to explain what was going on with me. They put me in to see there eye specialist.

Thankfully I got in the next week and got to see the specialist. He ordered an MRI since that was the only test I haven't had. That took a month to get and it also turned up nothing so the Nero Ophthalmologist diagnosis was that it's stress related.

I had already been seeing a therapist because I was having extreme anxiety attacks and depression was at a all time low.

So then I applied for short term disability. They dragged there feet and that went on for months. While I was fighting that my job decided that they were going to terminate me even tho I couldn't come back to work. I wanted to but couldn't.

Now my wonder Husband is taking care of me and working a full-time job. But that didn't work out too well cause my anxiety went threw the roof from being alone. He had to quit his job. I am trying for ssd but bills keep coming in and I have no insurance so everything is coming out of pocket now. We want to get me some training for life without vision. Anything we can donate will help keep us going. I'm not good at asking for help or asking for anything really but this is where my Husband and I are at. Thank you for taking the time for reading my story and anything helps. I'll give updates as they come.
