Cassie’s New Medical Alert Service Dog - Figment!

Hi everyone, my name is Cassie Collimore, and I’m raising funds for a medical alert service dog that will allow me to safely live with independence again.
I live with POTS, chronic migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, and joint pain, conditions that can cause sudden dizziness, fainting, extreme fatigue, and unpredictable symptoms that make being alone unsafe. A properly trained service dog can detect medical episodes before they happen, assist during emergencies, and help me maintain day-to-day independence.
My current service dog, Bourbon, has been my lifeline. Unfortunately, due to ongoing reactivity issues after being attacked at our apartment complex, he is now facing early retirement—much sooner than anyone anticipated. This means I must begin training a new service dog far earlier than planned, or risk losing the support that keeps me safe.
I am working with Coastal Service Dogs, a professional program that matches and trains dogs specifically bred for medical alert service work. While this provides the best chance for a successful service dog, the cost of breeding, training, medical care, and certification can total tens of thousands of dollars.
Every donation—no matter the size—goes directly toward:
• Selecting and training a medical alert service dog
• Veterinary care and specialized equipment
• Ensuring the dog can safely assist me long-term
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me during this unexpected transition
