Since December, my health has taken a serious turn. It started with a case of influenza and bronchitis, followed by bacterial pneumonia that left me hospitalized. All of this was made worse due to an underdeveloped lung I was born with—it no longer functions and leaves me vulnerable, especially during the winter months.

This past winter was the worst yet. I became so sick that I collapsed at work, and someone had to perform chest compressions on me until emergency responders arrived. Soon after, I developed a severe infection in both lungs, which triggered ongoing flare-ups of an autoimmune disease I’m still battling today.

Since then, I’ve been in and out of hospitals, ERs, and specialists. I’ve needed home nursing care, expensive medications, and around-the-clock support. I’m also dealing with a serious finger injury that won’t be fully treated until the end of the year. Because of all this, I haven’t been able to work—and I won’t be able to return until my health is stabilized.

Now, I’m heading to the Cleveland Clinic in search of answers, but much of the care I’ll need may not be covered by insurance. I’m doing everything I can, but I truly need help.

The only way I’ve made it this far is because of God. I pray to Him every day and I have full faith that He is walking with me through this storm. I trust that He has a purpose and a plan for my future, even when the path is hard. I believe with all my heart that healing is coming, and that He will use this for good.
