Help Cassidy heal

Donation protected
I am reaching out for a childhood friend of mine as she is on a journey of trying to find herself. Cassidy is an amazing women, she’s overcome many obstacles in her life and they’ve all made her a stronger being. She struggled with addiction fairly early in life but by 21 she put herself first and got sober and had over 4 years clean. She has a huge passion for helping others and decided to work in the treatment field so she could give back to other addicts that were going through what she once went through. Although being selfless is one of Cassidy’s great strengths, it’s also a weakness of hers. Cassidy was spending so much of her energy focusing on others and their needs rather then her own; she was working as a life coach and helping others improve themselves in whatever way they needed. At some point Cassidy started feeling like she wasn’t herself and began to isolate, realizing then that she was suffering from depression. Being the holistic person she is she didn’t want to get on any medication and thought she’d be fine, but going untreated lead her down a dark path that got worse and worse. She did eventually try a depression medication that a doctor recommended, but it made her feel foggy and she couldn’t feel any emotions, which to her was worse then being depressed.  Over the past year Cassidy went from being the most loving bubbly carefree authentic person, to feeling like she was a shell of a person with no emotions and no ability to feel love. This is the symptoms of depersonalization. Depression gone untreated can cause one to dissociate and lead to detachment and depersonalization. Cassidy moved back from California to her childhood home in Washington since she could no longer support herself because she couldn’t work, and she stayed with a family friend for a short time and then at my house with me. Cassidy’s mom and I couldn’t bare to see her feeling so helpless, so Heidi (her mom) decided a mental health treatment center would be the best move for her and made that happen. Heidi took out a hefty 30,000 dollar loan to get Cassidy to Arizona Alternative to Meds Center. This loan has put a large financial stress on Heidi’s family, as she also has 2 other children, Cassidy’s younger brothers. Cassidy has now been at the program for about 30 days and her stay is coming to an end at 45 days, however my hope is that we can change that. The staff on Cassidy’s care team think she needs more time there, she has not gotten to a point where leaving sounds like a good idea. As much as Cassidy wants to stay there longer, her family can not afford to pay for continuous care and that is where I am praying friends and family can help. If you are able to donate anything to Cassidy’s care fund it would be greatly appreciated, we would also be just as grateful if you can share this to any and everyone. Thank you for taking the time to read
