First, we appreciate all the love and support we have received over the last month from our friends and family. We have decided to start this fundraiser due to everyone reaching out wanting to help, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Cassandra and Jayce have had to overcome many obstacles since becoming young adults. One year ago, Cassandra lost her father, her best friend, and as we all know, grieving the loss of a parent at any age can be so difficult. Fast forward to one year later, Cassandra now 20 years old, underwent surgery to remove a lump on her forehead. Cassandra’s surgeon removed the lump and sent it to pathology for review. The surgeon contacted her a few weeks after her surgery to let her know that the lump was a rare high-grade cancer called synovial sarcoma, and a referral to Roswell was completed. Saying this has been a whirlwind for Cassandra and all of our families is an understatement. Cassandra has had multiple appointments weekly at Roswell in Buffalo, and we now have her treatment plan. Cassandra will need both radiation and chemotherapy. Cassandra will be starting her treatment in the coming weeks as they wrap up a few procedures and tests. Cassandra will need radiation every day in Buffalo for 6 weeks. Cassandra will have chemotherapy for 18 weeks, during which she will be admitted to Roswell for 3 days every other week. Our goal is to provide Cassandra and Jayce financial relief for these four months of her treatment, as we all know not having money for bills can be very stressful. This would be one less thing to worry about while she is fighting this very aggressive cancer! We appreciate any support and prayers for our girl! She knows she is loved and has a lot of us here for her!
