Help Cassandra Fight Heart Failure
Donation protected
My daughter, Cassandra, is a 35 yr old mother of two girls ages 12 and 13 yrs. She was diagnosed with having heart failure. Cassandra has always been a very hard worker her whole life, holding two jobs. She ended up getting a very good job at Roswell. While there, she trained to be a phlebotomist and still worked her second job.
On January 8, 2024, Cassandra had a cardiac episode at work, collapsing, and she was provided with immediate care. Since this event, she has seen several doctors, with numerous procedures, and was diagnosed with heart failure. She became permanently disabled and was unable to work.
Cassandra had to start wearing a life vest in March 2024 for seven months. Since then, Cassandra's life was changed drastically making everyday life activities very hard. This left her significant other, Aaron, the sole provider for their family.
In October 2024, my daughter finally had a subcutaneous difibulater (ICD) implanted. Her symptoms include- chest pain, exhaustion, palpitations, irregular heart rhythms, and leg/ankle swelling. Her ejection fraction, (pumping of the blood), is at 25-30%. Her heart muscle is becoming more damaged, along with her liver being affected. More tests will be preformed on her kidneys at her next appointment.
Currently, Cassandra is at a Stage C, quickly progressing to a Stage D. Once there, she will be placed on the heart transplant list.
Any donations, no matter what the amount, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time for reading my story, Karen (Cassandra's mother)
