In early May, surrounded by friends and chosen family, Cassandra Garrow stood on stage at the Wasteland Jamboree in West Virginia and proposed to the love of her life, Nicholas Rizzo. It was a beautiful, joyful moment for two incredible people who had nothing but high hopes for a bright future together.

Just a month and a half later, that bright future has been put on hold by a terrifying and sudden crisis.

Cassandra has been struck by an unknown illness that has left her mostly paralyzed. Despite being under the care of top doctors in central Florida, her condition remains a baffling mystery. She is fighting hard, but the toll has been immense. To keep her alive, Cass has already endured multiple tests, scans, three iron infusions, and has required four units of blood.

The ripple effect on their family has been devastating. Cass and Nick have young, sweet children who need their parents. With Cass fighting for her health, Nick has been forced to give up his overnight truck-driving shifts. Without reliable or affordable childcare, he must be home to care for their kids and support Cass. As a result, medical bills and everyday living expenses are piling up at an overwhelming pace.
