For more than a year now, my friend Cass has been working toward finally getting bottom surgery. You may already know how much planning this takes: doctor appointments, insurance calls, therapist letters, surgery consults. The next step of the plan is electrolysis, which is medically necessary in order for bottom surgery to happen.

Here's the problem: insurance will most likely not reimburse her for the estimated year of electrolysis sessions she’ll need. We don’t know for sure what they’re willing to cover yet, but it’s not looking good.

So, we are asking you for help! We’re raising funds to cover a year of electrolysis. If her insurance does end up covering some of it (which is not likely), any extra money will go toward paying for bottom surgery and helping her with bills during the 3-month healing period after surgery. Any amount helps!

We don’t know the exact number of sessions she’ll need yet, so the current fundraising goal reflects our best estimate. We might update the goal as we learn more.

Cass gives a lot to her communities and is a beloved friend, drag performer, and artist. She’s done a staggering amount of work to get this far. It’s our turn to give back to her!
