Help Casper Fight Kidney Failure
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ellie, and I'm raising funds for my beloved cat Casper.
On Monday, June 30th, Casper — my sweet, 6-year-old cuddlebug — was diagnosed with kidney failure. The vet told me that if I couldn’t afford treatment, humane euthanasia might be the only option. But here's the thing: Casper is still full of life. He’s eating, drinking, purring, grooming himself, playing, and curling up next to me just like always. That’s why I’ve decided to give him a fighting chance.
Casper is currently hospitalized and will be staying for at least 48 hours. During that time, he’s receiving IV fluids to try and revive his kidney function. He’s also getting an X-ray (under sedation) to check his bladder, a SNAP test to rule out other possible conditions, and a second full blood panel to compare his levels from last week.
If Casper shows improvement, ongoing treatment will still be essential to support his quality of life. He’ll need a specialized kidney diet, regular doses of subcutaneous fluids at home, repeat vet visits every couple of months, and prescriptions like phosphate binders — among other long-term care items. These additional costs will add up quickly, and your support will help make sure he gets everything he needs to stay comfortable and stable.
The total cost of his care has already passed $4,500 — and while I’m picking up every extra shift I can and working overtime on weekends, it’s going to take time to make ends meet. That’s why I’m asking for help.
Casper is more than just a pet. He’s my best friend. He sleeps by my side every night, waits for me at the door when I get home, and never leaves my side when I need comfort. He’s also an important part of our little animal family — his two beagle sisters and cat brother already miss his presence at home.
If you can spare anything to help me give Casper the care he needs, I would be forever grateful. Every little bit helps. Even if it’s a dollar. And if you’re not in a place to give, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to.
Thank you so much for reading, and for loving animals like Casper.
With gratitude,
Ellie, Casper & family ❤️
