My name is Pertrinea Cash, of Fairfield, CT.
My son Naim passed away a year ago leaving behind his blended family of five. They have now suffered another catastrophic loss due to Hurricane Helene. They lived outside of Asheville, North Carolina, in the small town of Old Fort.
Due to the landslides, their home was pushed off its foundation while they were all trapped inside. The house is uninhabitable.
Amazing neighbors rushed to assist them in evacuating through windows as the doors were blocked by tree branches, mud and debris.
The family includes three teenagers, two toddlers, and their mom, Chasidy. She was able to keep her composure while loading the children into the car and navigating her way through the destruction to the northeastern part of North Carolina.
As a result of relocating, Chasidy is now unemployed and in desperate need of funds to secure housing, hotel expenses, clothing, electronic devices, transportation and other basic necessities for the family. Unfortunately, there was no renter's insurance, and she has applied for assistance from FEMA.
Your kindness, compassion, and generosity mean more than you can imagine. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated and will be used for the basic necessities to rebuild their lives.
