Hi, my name is Casey, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest battles of my life.
For years, I’ve been suffering from a debilitating jaw condition that has progressively stolen my ability to eat, talk, sleep, and live without pain. What began as minor clicking and discomfort has turned into constant jaw locking, severe headaches, neck pain, and changes in my bite and facial structure.
My Diagnosis:
After countless doctor visits, imaging scans, and failed treatments, I was diagnosed with:
Bilateral TMJ disc displacement
Osteoarthritis and joint degeneration
Condylar growth deficiency (small jaw joints)
Restricted airway, that has turned into OSA sleep apnea mild to severe
(Obstructive sleep apnea)
Cervicogenic pain and muscle tension
Both of my jaw joints have deteriorated — they’re smaller than normal and arthritic, with displaced and damaged discs.
My surgeon has classified the left joint as Piper Stage Va and the right as Piper Stage IVa/b, meaning both are in advanced stages of breakdown.
What I’ve Tried
I’ve spent years trying every non-surgical treatment available:
Night guards and splints
Botox injections for muscle tension
Arthrocentesis procedures (joint flushing)
Physical therapy, chiropractic care, and medications
Sadly, nothing has stopped the progression. My jaw now locks frequently, and even talking for long periods or eating solid food causes pain.
My Only Hope Now
My surgeon, Dr. Shah, has recommended complex reconstructive surgery to prevent permanent disability. The plan includes:
Removing both damaged joint discs
Rebuilding the joints using fat grafting or custom implants
Orthodontic and jaw advancement surgery to restore my bite and airway
This surgery could save my jaw, relieve years of pain, and let me breathe, speak, and eat normally again.
Why I Need Help
The cost of these procedures — including surgical planning, hospital care, orthodontics, imaging, and recovery — is estimated at $120,000.
Insurance will only cover a small fraction, leaving me to shoulder the rest.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Surgical costs and hospital fees
Orthodontic and restorative dental work
Even a small contribution or a simple share of this campaign means the world to me.
❤️ From My Heart
Living with this condition has affected every part of my life — my work, confidence, and ability to enjoy simple things like eating with friends or smiling without pain.
This surgery gives me hope for a future where I can live without constant discomfort and regain my independence.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for sharing, or for donating to help me heal.
Your kindness truly means everything.
– Casey
