My name is Bekki. I’m starting this go fund me for my cousin Casey.

Recently, my cousin Casey and her father Michael were both seriously injured after being attacked by their dog. The dog has since been euthanised, but the impact of this incident will be felt for a long time.

Both seriously injured in which Casey suffered over a five minute attack, where her right thumb was bitten off and right arm bitten severely left hand and arm mauled and nearly lost left thumb, right leg severely mauled from thigh to heel to the point paramedics thought she may lose it as at this point still working on saving it, but is looking hopeful, still a lot of reconstructive surgeries to go on the hand and leg and on top of all this they are facing over a thousand dollars in vet bills for Casey's dog who tore his way through a chain wire fence to help save her and her dad by attacking the other dog and keeping it away from them, he suffered multiple bites and broken teeth from ripping through the fence. She has already endured more than six hours of hand surgery, during which doctors were unable to save her thumb, followed by another six-hour micro-plastic surgery to begin repairing extensive wounds. Casey is facing further surgery and a long road of physical and emotional recovery.

Casey is up for $10’000’s for cosmetic surgery.

Michael, Casey’s dad, was also badly injured and underwent hand surgery. While there are encouraging signs that sensation is returning to his finger, he remains under specialist care and is still recovering.

At this time, both Casey and Michael are focused on healing. The physical trauma, emotional toll, and financial strain from hospital stays, surgeries, rehabilitation, counselling, and time away from work are overwhelming.

We have created this GoFundMe to help ease some of this burden so they can focus on recovery without the added stress of financial pressure. Funds raised will go toward:

• Ongoing rehabilitation and follow-up care

• Essential living costs during recovery
