Hello everyone,
We are reaching out because our beloved dog, Casey, needs a life-threatening surgery, and we can’t do it without your help.
Casey is a 10-year-old Malshi (Maltese Shih Tzu), and she has been part of our family since she was a puppy. She has always been healthy, happy, and full of life. She is a playful, smart, and incredibly loving dog. Casey loves playing with our other dogs, being around children, and spending time with her family. She loves cuddles, giving kisses, and brightening every room with her cheerful personality. She is truly our everything, and we can’t imagine life without her.
Yesterday, all of the sudden, Casey became very weak, unable to walk, shaking, whimpering, and breathing abnormally. She seemed to be in severe pain and felt discomfort. We rushed her to the ER. They took x-rays and found a large dilated uterus indicating a closed pyometra and a mammary mass that has to be removed.
Closed pyometra is a uterine infection that has to be treated with emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus. She is at high risk of developing sepsis and septic shock. She won't get better without the surgery. Casey's pyometra is closed meaning there's no draining of the pus through the vulva. This is more dangerous because the body has no way of getting rid of the infection. The uterus can rupture into the abdomen. Without emergency surgery to remove her uterus, this condition is fatal.
The mammary mass on her belly has a 50% chance of being benign. It needs to be removed at the same time as the pyometra surgery and be sent out to know if it is cancerous or not.
With the surgery, emergency care, and treatment recovery, we've been estimated from $8,000 to $10,000, which is far more than we can afford on our own.
Casey is more than just a dog to us. She is family, our joy, and our heart. Without surgery, she will not survive. She deserves a chance to live and to be loved.
Please help by donating or sharing this page with others. We are grateful for any help possible. Every dollar counts and will make a big difference. All funds raised will go toward her emergency treatment, life-saving surgery, pain relief, and recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read and for helping us to save our sweet little girl.
May God bless you abundantly.
