I’m reaching out for help with my cat, Case, who recently survived a life-threatening emergency. Here’s what happened:

Case came into my life in December when I moved into a new place. He belonged to a roommate and I was excited to be living with a cat again. Case’s owner started having extended stays away from the apartment, leaving Case without food or water for days, unless me or my other roommate fed him. After a week of his owner being gone, I went into her bedroom and saw his living conditions, along with his litter box, and we declared him neglected and abandoned and I took over ownership. Since then I’ve managed to get him neutered, vaccinations, a new litter box, food and toys. Things we’re looking up for Case and me as we started growing close.

On February 5th, I came home to find Case vomiting and uncoordinated. After calling the ASPCA, I learned he had eaten lilies (a gift from a friend) which are *extremely toxic* to cats. I rushed him to VERG Brooklyn, where he spent hours on an IV and underwent multiple procedures. Thankfully, he made a full recovery, but the emergency vet bills totaled $1,748.

This unexpected expense has been a huge financial burden. While I’ve since added Case to my pet insurance policy, I’m still struggling to cover the costs of his emergency care.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. This GoFundMe aims to raise funds to pay down Case’s vet bills. Any amount—whether it’s $5 or $50—makes a difference and ensures Case can continue to live a happy, healthy life.
