Hi my name is Cary Miga and asking for help has never been my strong suit.

This past 4-5 months I've been going through a divorce which has been the most challenging time of my life so far - not to mention job termination, the passing of my aunt (we have no more direct relatives on my mothers side), our evacuation during the Altadena fires and other recent familial trauma. *No we didn't lose our home in the fires and this is not to diminish or compare to the sheer tragedy that Altadena home owners experienced.

In failing my marriage I've felt shame, guilt, and overall a sense of failure to my friends, family, and most of all myself. This feeling has spiraled into a dark and negative space for me which has been extremely difficult to literally and physically move myself out of.

Typically I've always been able to inspire myself and others as my light has burned brightly. This time my light is dark and I'm asking for help so that I can keep it burning.

Living in the home where Mandy and I were married in and to watch our photos disappear, our furniture leave, our plants die, the dust build, and our memories fade into nothing has been a really sad and painful part of just living for me so with the help of my mother, sister, and three close friends I was able to get a truck and move up to Portland.

My ask is for any assistance in paying rent here in Portland, OR for two months and rent in Los Angeles, CA for two months as my lease is up in February 2026. Leases can be provided upon request but will kept private for my ex wife and my sister whom I am now live with. Both my ex wife and I could not afford to effectively break out lease with that much liquid capital so we kept the lease until it would be over in February. My mother has helped me IMMENSELY but she no longer has the means to help myself or anyone else in my family and I'm sick to my stomach even asking for help.

My ask is broken down below just for transparency and is solely for rent - not including any of my personal bills. Again, thank you reading and considering - any help is appreciated and would allow me to simply focus on getting work here in Portland and effectively starting a new chapter in my life.
