Help Carson Smith on his road to recovery

Donation protected
On March 14, our brother, who is one of the toughest people we know, began the hardest battle of his life. Without going into too many details, while at his home he was stabbed 45 times by an acquaintance. He was life flighted to Cooper University Trauma center where he has since been in a fight for his life. Every single doctor and nurse has told us that he is a living miracle and his story is amazing. This does not surprise us at all. My brother has always been our hero. He has stood unbreakable throughout many things in his life that would have broken others. He has two daughters, and two grandchildren who are his world. His youngest daughter is still in high school, and he is a single father to her. He is going to need weeks and months of critical care, therapy, and overall healing before he will God willing be able to work again. He is one of the hardest workers you will ever meet, and would never even begin to ask anyone else for help. He is usually the one helping others, and wouldn’t want it any other way. But even though he may kill us for doing this, we are asking for help for our brother and his girls. The medical bills alone will be more than any of us could ever even imagine. We know that this news is going to be shocking to many of you who love Carson. We promise you that he is fighting. The times that he has been alert and been able to speak, he always amazes us with his strength and positivity.
I will share this one story, because all of you who know Carson will see that this senseless act of violence has not changed our brother. Carson was stabbed in the eye and unfortunately told by his doctor that they were not able to save his vision in that eye. After being told that he would be blind in one eye, he was listening to one of the nurses explain some details about his care. As serious and straight face as he could he looked at the nurse and said “oh I see….said the blind man!!! Ha!!! They all love him so much here, which is no surprise to us. It only took him a few days to win their love, so you can imagine the way those of us whose hearts he stole 51 years ago feel. Thank you for all the prayers and support so far. He is still in critical condition and by no means out of the woods, so please continue to pray. We know that our parents are both at heavens gate with a sign that says “closed for today”. This world still needs his goofy laugh, sense of adventure, and kind heart. Thank you in advance!
