For years, I have been living with POTS and chronic pain, which eventually led to my diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. These conditions have made it difficult for me to walk or move around easily, and even short trips can make my symptoms much worse. There are days when I worry about passing out or not being able to get the help I need in time. It’s a constant challenge, and it’s taken a toll on my independence and peace of mind.
A service dog would be life-changing for me. With specialized training, a dog could bring me my emergency medicine if I pass out, provide body compression to help manage my symptoms, and alert others if something is wrong. Even more, a service dog could warn me when an episode is coming, giving me a chance to prepare and stay safe. Right now, I depend on my husband for so much, but he has to work, and I want to regain some of my independence. Having a service dog would allow me to live my life more fully and confidently, knowing I have support by my side.
Thank you to anyone who donates and sees my personal struggle. Some know me as a strong willed, slightly stubborn woman, and I am determined to keep moving forward. Any little bit can help me fulfill my needs and take this important step toward a safer, more independent life.
