Shortly after moving to Minnesota from Wisconsin and just a few months after starting a new job, Carrie suffered a life threatening medical emergency that resulted in an unexpected surgery and weeklong stay at the hospital.

As a result, she was let go from her new job.

She also, per the surgeon, isn't able to go back to work for another 4-6 weeks (even if she had one to go back to).

It's leaving her without any income for the next, at least, 4-6 weeks meaning no money for food, rent or anything.
