Ever since my board hearing and the legal expenses that followed, I have struggled to keep up with my bills. No matter how hard I tried, I never managed to catch up. On top of that, I’ve always found it difficult to manage money, and over time, I fell behind on my car payments. Just this past Saturday, my car was repossessed. Losing my car has been devastating because I rely on it to get to work and to take my exchange students to their activities. Without it, I feel like I’m letting them down and putting my own job at risk.

The car company is now requiring that I pay off the rest of my loan, plus additional fees, to get my car back. I’ve already taken out a loan on my retirement savings, but I’m still a couple of thousand dollars short. I know this is a mess of my own making, but life has been especially hard for me over the last couple of years. I’m reaching out because I feel truly hopeless and don’t know where else to turn.
