My name is Carrie, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my husband, Pete. Earlier this year, Pete lost his job, and since then, our lives have been turned upside down. I haven’t been able to work because my mental and physical health have deteriorated so much. In the past twelve months, I’ve been hospitalized three times—each time my kidneys shut down, and doctors discovered scar tissue in my brain from strokes I didn’t even know I’d had. These have been near-death experiences, and the fear and uncertainty have been overwhelming.
We’re doing everything we can to get by. Pete is working hard to find a new job, and we’re in the process of applying for disability, but as many people know, that can take a long time. Most nights, I cry in fear of losing our home and everything we own. I see Pete praying, trying to stay strong for both of us, but I know the stress is taking a toll. We needed two incomes to survive, and now we’re struggling to get by on none.
We’re asking for help to cover our rent, medical bills, and groceries while we work to get back on our feet. If you could spare anything, it would mean the world to us and take some of the burden off our shoulders. Please, please pray for us—faith, hope, and love are the only way we’ll get through this. Your support, whether financial or spiritual, means more than we can say. We pray that your kindness is returned to you tenfold, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything.
