Help Carrie Navigate can Through Loss of Nancy by Anna
Donation protected
Nancy unexpectedly passed
away on 6/27/2024 leaving her daughter, and best friend, to pick up the pieces all by herself. Nancy has been the only parent Carrie has had. Carrie will never ask anyone for help- she will just figure it out and handle it herself. With the emergency travel expenses, funeral costs, mortgage, and other bills, Carrie is coming up short. Life insurance will not cover all of the expenses as was thought. I’m am asking for some support so Carrie can get through this. Anybody that knew Nancy and Carrie knows they would be the first ones to help out a friend or a stranger, or an animal. Nancy is proceeded in death by her parents, Walt and Lorraine Schumacher. Survived by her daughter, Carol (aka Carrie), sister Carol (Steve) Tideman, brother Steve (Cindy) Schumacher, nephews Eric (Audrey), Ross (Elizabeth), and Jack (Haley) Schumacher, multiple cousins, and beloved cat Oliver.
Nancy jumped head first into politics at the suggestion of a friend and after meeting Paul Wellstone. She was elected as the Sherburne County DFL chair, MN DFL Sixth Congressional Chair, and the National Democratic Committee. All the while, she worked a full-time job and raised her daughter alone in Elk River.
Her daughter was her greatest joy and stress. Carrie is Nancy’s mini-me, but almost more tenacious if that is a possibility. Seeing Carrie grow into an incredible woman was Nancy’s greatest accomplishment, with being sober for 41 years being second. She worked in automotive for 25+ years before working for Midwest Maintenance and Mechanical. She moved to Florida in 2019 to “retire,” which she did for a week. She started working at Miracle Toyota in Haines City in 2020 where they were lucky enough to have Nancy‘s spirit and knowledge grace them. She also dabbled in with the Polk County Democrats. If she wasn’t at home, you could find her out exploring Florida, sharing pictures of her latest meal, or running around Walt Disney World or Bok Gardens.
She leaves behind hundreds of friends and acquaintances and left an impression on everyone she met.
We all know that Carrie was Nancy’s pride and joy. She lived and breathed for Carrie and she would never ever want to add to stress Carrie’s life. If you can please help in anyway possible to relieve the stress that’s been put on Carrie’s plate as she grieves for the loss of her mom & best friend. The service for Nancy is still being planned for late summer 2024 in Minnesota.
