In March of 2025, my wife, Carrie Anne LaNoir, was suddenly and shockingly diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma. It is a blood cancer that affects lymph nodes. However, hers presented in an abnormal way and after PET scans, it was found to be in all four quadrants of her body, not only in her lymph nodes but various other parts of her body, including her liver. They told us it was very aggressive stage 4 and treatment was to start immediately. In one afternoon, our life turned upside down… again. As you could imagine, this was devastating news, especially since we are all trying to get over our daughter Amanda's sudden passing the previous year. Treatment began immediately, consisting of chemotherapy called R-CHOP, etc., a wonderful little cocktail of four chemotherapy drugs, one of which is nicknamed the “red devil.” And for a good reason. It consists of chemotherapy every 21 days for 6 treatments, along with the ancillary recovery shots after each that may be as bad or worse than the “red devil” himself! She has just finished her 6th and (God willing) final treatment, but each one is significantly worse than the next as her body just gets weaker, as you can imagine.

Carrie is one of the strongest people I’ve ever met and still tries to have that smile and positive attitude that everyone knows. She was very involved in Girl Scouts with all our girls, running a troop for 12 years. A graduate of South High's class of ‘85, she has proudly lived in Moreau all her life.

Cancer is horrible, to say the least. We all hear about how bad cancer is and we all believe it is. But then when it comes knocking on your door, it’s more devastating than you can imagine. It affects every area of our lives and only has one horrible purpose: destruction. It affects everything, including, unfortunately, finances. Up until this point, we have been able to keep up, as Carrie still tried to work occasionally and savings, but can no longer. So, it’s onto disability to pay the medical bills, but it’s just not possible.

Asking for help is not something we do lightly. I hate to. But this has become bigger than expected and well, here we are. Any funds raised would go to helping us pay down her medical debt. Even prayers would be helpful if you could remember us in some quiet times.

The toll cancer takes is immense, but if you fight it every day, it can quite often be beaten. Carrie has chosen to fight it, hard. Her strength and our faith in God will hopefully be enough to get through this to brighter days.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give us; it really would be a blessing.

Thank you for reading this far about our tale.

Please try to remember her in your prayers.
