Help Carrie Hammack fight cancer.

“To know her is to love her,” When I hear that quote, I immediately think of Carrie.
Hi everybody, my name is Renee. I’ve had the honor of working right next to Carrie Hammack for the last 3 years. In that time, we’ve become the best of friends.
On December 9th, Carrie received the soul crushing news that her persistent ear pain was actually tongue cancer. More specifically, she has stage II Squamous Cell Carcinoma that’s spread to her left lymph node. The good news is: the doctors are very optimistic, her PET scan shows the cancer hasn’t spread, and we have a treatment plan in place. Carries first round of Chemo is Monday, January 10th. She will receive 3 rounds- each round will last 1 week and then she will have two weeks off. At the end of the 9 weeks, the professionals will assess and decide if she needs radiation or if she’s ready for surgery.
All of this will put Carrie out of work until at least April. She’s already been out since December 6th. On top of all of her household bills, she will be hit with quite a few medical bills and zero income.
Now if you know Carrie, you know she is one of the most generous, empathetic, compassionate, down to earth and caring people out there. She is a single mom to three, but she’s really a mom to all the kids. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand to anybody in need, provide a meal to the neighborhood kids, a place to stay for friends, a shoulder to cry on, and so much more. This hardly scratches the surface of how incredible Carrie is, but if you know her, you just know.
From day one, I have been begging Carrie to let me reach out to the world to get any support possible for her and her 3 amazing kids. Carrie's independence, humility, and pride were having nothing of the sort, and I respected that. However, after much persuasion and a few changes in diagnosis and treatment plans, Carrie has agreed to this. Please help out anyway you can- whether it be a donation, prayers, sharing on social media, etc. Let’s allow Carrie to focus on kicking cancer’s ass and getting all better while we alleviate some of the financial burden.
