Hi my name is Carrie. I’m reaching out here because unfortunately I’m in a position of desperate need, and I’ve been left with no other options but to humble myself and ask for help!

I have 3 brain disorders; trigeminal neuralgia, chronic migraines and pseudo tumor cerebral. I had microvascular decompression brain surgery 4 months ago, and the recovery process has been almost unbearable.

On top of a very long list of other medical conditions I'm managing, my husband of the 32 years, who was the sole earner, and the father of my children, left me to be with his coworker/girlfriend 8 months ago, and he has refused support of any kind, and refuses to handle the cost of a divorce. I’ve recently learned from one of my children that he has now moved to Canada, so that makes the entire divorce process harder now.

I cannot afford a lawyer, because my husband had completely cut me off financially and cleared out our bank accounts and I exhausted all options until I finally found a lawyer that was willing to take my case, and then my lawyer sadly passed away shortly after starting on my case.

I have NO income because of my disabilities, and now that my husband has recently cancelled my health insurance as well, I have no idea how I'm going to be able to see my regular neuro specialist without insurance, or take care of any other of my medical needs.

I of course applied for disability, but have been told I could be waiting a long time to get approved. Which further puts me back in my health status of being able to just do basic things to survive.

I'm living with our daughter and son in law and two granddaughters who are currently trying to support me , but that has caused a financial strain on their family.

I don’t have a lot of family or friends, and none in a position to help me financially, so I’m now faced with true desperate circumstances of trying to find a way to obtain an attorney, as well as keeping my health, emotional and mental state intact.

I’ve reached out through my church for aide, I'm on several lists for a pro bono lawyer or public defender, and I’m awaiting a decision from Medicaid and disability, but my medical needs are mounting. And the states ability to provide the assistance I need is very limited.
