Help Carrie Bryant Through Her Health Crisis

Donation protected
My whole life my mom told me, “asking for help doesn’t make you a weaker woman.” Now it’s time for me to tell her that.

On the evening of December 3rd my mom Carrie Bryant had a heart attack, she was alone in her apartment and thankfully had the good sense to call 911 to come get her and take her in. She was almost immediately moved from emergency to ICU at WVMC, and placed under numerous medications and monitors to check her heart while trying to find a place up in Portland to transfer her to. Around 2pm Wednesday they were able to move her up to Adventist and admitted her while they waited for an echocardiogram and coronary angiogram. Currently we don’t have the results from the tests or any answers as to what exactly is wrong or when she may be able to come home.

If any of you know my mom, you know crafting isn’t just her business, it’s her life. But while she’s in the hospital, she can’t make anything, or go to the multiple craft fairs she had set up for the upcoming weeks/holidays. Also meaning she will have no income coming in all the while, racking up medical bills.

It took a bit of strong arming but I finally got her to agree to letting me set this up in hopes that we can get anything at all to help relieve the stress that is more than likely what caused the heart attack. Holidays are hard and anything is greatly appreciated. Even just thoughts and prayers.

Thank you!

UPDATE:
Her angiogram came back and the news is not good. She has coronary artery disease, she has 75, 98 and 99% blockages in her three major arteries. They will have to do open heart surgery and a double or triple bypass depending on if the surgery team thinks one of the arteries that may be too small can be graphed without causing any extra issues. They will take a piece of her mammory vein from in her left shoulder and a piece or two from a vein in her leg to replace the clogged arteries with. While this surgery is a “fix the here and now” it is not going to stop the CAD from running its course, but my mom said “I will not have open heart twice, this is going to be the end of it”.

Now, with open heart surgery, she will be down for three months, unable to live alone, unable to work, unable to knit, unable to drive, not an outcome any of us were quite prepared for… so truly anything at all is so appreciated.
